Get to know Carrot Seed Essential Oil, Arachis Oil, and Armoise Essential Oil!

South Asia experiences three major seasons viz., winter, summer, and monsoon during the year. The winter season continues for four months from November to February, and it is marked by the harvest of seasonal crops, vegetables, and fruits. Groundnuts or peanuts are harvested during winters, while carrot seeds (not the carrots) are available during summers, particularly during June-July.

The cultivators harvest carrot seeds from the umbels of flowers after 2-3 months of carrot crop harness. The breeders wish to obtain dry seeds with high beta-carotene content and improved flavor. The dry tiny carrot seeds can be used for 6-7 years if stored in temperatures below 9 degrees celsius. The carrot seed essential oil manufacturers distill them to extract a golden orange oil with an earthy, woody, and warm odor.

The essential oil derived from carrot seeds is known for its skin rejuvenation qualities due to carotol and beta-carotene content. It has a warm, earthy, and woody odor. The usage of skincare formulations containing carrot seed oil cleanses the skin, restores its health, and makes it youthful. Its dermal usage reduces aging signs, firms up skin tissues, and regulates sebum production, while its hair application nourishes hair, prevents greying hair, and makes them shiny. The oil also displays anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antibacterial activities. Its water dilution intake helps in detoxification.

The medicinal use of carrot seed oil helps lower blood pressure and treat viral ailments and sore throats. Carrot seed essential oil is different from carrot seed infused carrier oil. It is mixed in digestive tonics and massage oils. The massage and aromatherapy oils and carrot seed infused oils contain carrier oils and even other essential oils. Arachis is one of the best carrier oils for the skin. It is also known as peanut oil. It is a thick fatty acid, pale yellow oil with a characteristic odor. Arachis oil is rich in oleic and linoleic acids and is used as a fixative in soaps.

For soap making, mostly leafy essential oils such as armoise, mint, basil, neem, davana, laurel leaf, ravensara, and melissa are used by the industries. Among them, armoise essential oil is one of the popular wellness and fragrance ingredients in toiletries. It is a colorless, slightly oily liquid with a fresh, herbaceous camphor odor with skin-beneficial properties. Moreover, it has digestive, diuretic, analgesic, and skin-healing properties. It is predominantly used for digestive and liver ailments, particularly for intestinal worms. It is also used in diffuser blends for its herbaceous aroma and mosquitoes-repelling fragrance.

All these oils are abundantly available in the region as the related carrier or essential oil suppliers are present in large numbers.
